Mechanical Design Engineer
- £40–£45 p/h (Outside IR35)
- Hybrid – Ashton Under Lyne - 2 days / week
- 6 Month Contract (potentially 4 years' work)
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering company supporting their client on an extensive CSO upgrade programme. You’ll be delivering detailed mechanical designs for multiple small wastewater sites, following standard templates and specifications.
What you’ll be doing:
- Producing mechanical detailed designs for CSO sites — including screens, penstocks, valves, and washwater systems
- Preparing GA drawings, P&IDs, and equipment schedules
- Coordinating with E&I and civil teams to ensure integrated, efficient designs
- Providing technical input and support during design reviews and construction phases
- Must have:
- Proven mechanical design experience within water or wastewater treatment projects
- Ideally have water or wastewater treatment projects experience such as CSOs, pumping stations, and screening systems
